Police: Lodi Shoplifting Suspect Had 2 Pipe Bombs In Car
LODI (CBS13) - A woman who was arrested in a Lodi parking lot on shoplifting charges Monday also had two pipe bombs in her car, police say.
At around 1:30 p.m., Lodi police went to the parking lot of Marshall's on Kettleman Lane to investigate reports a woman had stolen from the store after stealing from the Wal-Mart across the street, according to a statement from Lodi police.
Officers stopped the suspect, Olga Myshnova, 23, in the parking lot. A search of her vehicle turned up two objects resembling pipe bombs.
Members of the bomb squad arrived on the scene, determined the objects were, in fact, bombs and rendered them safe.
Myshnova was booked into San Joaquin County Jail for possession of destructive devices and two counts of shoplifting. Bail has been set at $503,000.
A hearing has been set for Wednesday at 12:15 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
