Little Joe Loudmouth: My Sports Oscars

Hollywood's biggest "look at me" show, the Oscars, took place last night.  And as I watched Birdman dominate the night, I thought to myself, what if I put together my own sports version of the Oscars?  Which many of you are probably saying to yourselves, "they already have that dummy, it's called the ESPYS"!  And to that, I say you're right...but I don't care, this is my blog.  So here's my "Sports Oscars".

I have 3 categories for you to vote on.  Best Director, Best Role In A Starting Position and Best Picture.

Let's get started...

Best Director

Bruce Bochy - Bochy finished 3rd in Manager of the year in 2014, but more importantly was able to lead the Giants to another World Series. Bochy and the Giants finished the year 88-74, and after beating the Pirates, Nationals and Cardinals the Giants beat the Royals in 7 games securing their 3rd WS ring in 5 years.

Bill Belichick - Despite all the controversy Belichick has found himself in, there is no arguing his brilliance as an NFL mind. Belichick led the Patriots to a 12-4 record and to a 6th SB appearance. After a close game against the Seahawks, the Patriots once again found themselves victorious, 28-24 winning himself and the Patriots their 4th SB ring.

Greg Popovich - The 3 time coach of the year led the Spurs to a 55-34 regular season record and then cruised through the playoffs to face the favorite Miami Heat led by LeBron James. But after 5 games, Greg Popovich and the Spurs once again found themselves atop the NBA, winning their 5th NBA Finals Championship.

Madison Bumgarner - Bumgarner went 18-10 with a 2.98 ERA for the Giants during the regular season, but once the postseason came, Bumgarner proved his worth. Bumgarner won the NLCS MVP & WS MVP, helping the Giants win their 3rd WS in 5 years. Bumgarner was 2-0 in the WS with a .43 ERA.

Best Picture

"The Letter"

LeBron James, who left his hometown of Cleveland behind, taking his talents to South Beach, decided after 4 years it was time to come home. 2 MVPs & 2 Championships later, The Prodigal Son decides to go back, proving it's never too late to go back home.

"Deflategate"

Finding themselves in a heap of controversy once again, the New England Patriots are able to turn their backs to it and are able to call themselves champions for a 4th time. Some are calling Tom Brady and Bill Belichick the greatest QB coach combo ever, but many are saying, not so fast. The Tuck Rule, Spygate, and now the Patriots find themselves in the latest controversy that may ruin their legacy for good in "Deflategate".

"The Lords Of The Ring"

The San Francisco Giants with a cast of "no names" and "too olds" found themselves once again winning it all in an even year, giving them 3 championships in 5 seasons, leading to a dynasty and them being, "The Lords Of The Rings".

"Inglorious Bastard"

This is the story of an old man who was recorded by his much younger mistress saying extremely racists things towards his team and basketball royalty, Magic Johnson. The hero in this story, Adam Silver, stepped in and said, this will not stand in his NBA. Forced to sell his team to an ultra excited Steve Balmer, this is the story of Donald Sterling in "Inglorious Bastard".

"Captain Jeter"

Derek Jeter ended his Hall of Fame career as the Yankees all time hit leader with 3,465 hits, and one of his biggest hits came in his last at bat at home. The Captain walked up for the final time in Yankee Stadium and hits a walk-off single to right field giving the Yankees the 6-5 win over the Orioles, ending his career in pinstripes, the only way imaginable.

"The Investigation Game"

The NFL had a tough start to their season with Ray Rice facing domestic violence charges and Adrian Peterson facing child abuse charges. All while Aaron Hernandez is on trial for murder. Watch how commissioner Roger Goodell tries to sneak his way out of this story of deception and corruption in "The Investigation Game".
