Kings Fizzle Out Vs. Rockets In 120-113 Loss
The Sacramento Kings had themselves in position to get a win on the road, and couldn't finish it off down the stretch.
The Rockets outscored the Kings by 8 in the fourth quarter, connecting on 16 of their 34 three-point attempts (.471) overall to earn a 120-113 come-from-behind victory at home on Saturday night.
Sacramento started the game slowly, falling behind 29-16 after one quarter, but Ben McLemore would score 11 of his season high 19 points in the second to pull the Kings within two by halftime. The third quarter also ended with a Sacramento advantage, thanks in part to Rajon Rondo delivering 8 of his 19 assists in the frame.
James Harden found a rhythm in the second half to lead a fourth quarter surge for Houston, scoring 20 of his game-high 31 points after halftime. His 10-point fourth quarter sparked an eight point difference in the Rockets' favor, securing the victory.
DeMarcus Cousins struggled for the second straight game for Sacramento with 14 points and 9 rebounds (4-16 FG). In two games on the road trip, Cousins has shot just 8-for-33 (.242) from the field.
The Kings (7-14) face off with Oklahoma City on Sunday.
