High-Speed Chase Ends In Freeport, 3 Taken Into Custody

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Officers have arrested three people who led them on a high-speed chase in a stolen truck early Wednesday morning.

The chase started around 2 a.m. near 30th and C Streets at a storage unit. Police say the suspects took off in a pickup truck in front of officers.

The truck reached speeds of over a 100 mph, forcing officers to back off on the chase.

Near the town of Freeport, officers got a call about a truck on a driveway on River Road. Apparently, the suspects had ditched the car and took off on foot.

A police helicopter helped in the search with a body heat sensor.

"The best way to put it: they'll stand out like a sore thumb," said Sgt. Dustin Smith from the Sacramento Police Department. "They'll be able to find them very easily."

Police later announced around 6:30 a.m. that all three suspects have been into custody.
