Grief Counselors Assisting At School Where Boy Who Died Attended Classes

ELK GROVE (CBS13) - Grief counselors will be at Toby Johnson Middle School in Elk Grove on Monday.

It will be the first time students are at the school together since the sudden death of a 12-year-old student last week.

Aaron Nguyen was practicing with his basketball team, which is unaffiliated with the school, on Friday night in Elk Grove when, his coach says, he suddenly stopped breathing. He was dead within an hour.

Aaron's father says his son was a happy, healthy, straight-A student who was a huge Sacramento Kings fan and loved playing basketball.

The cause of Aaron's death is under investigation.

His teammates and friends gathered at the school on Saturday and released balloons and remembered the little boy taken away too soon.

"Whatever Aaron does, he always put 100% effort," said his father, Andrew.
