Multiple buildings burned in Sacramento grass fire

SACRAMENTO — A grass fire has spread to and destroyed multiple buildings, including one home, in North Sacramento, officials said Wednesday night.

It was happening along Main Avenue near Rio Linda and just southwest of McClellan Park. The Sacramento Fire Department responded at around 7:30 to the fire.

A spokesperson for the department said the fire spread north to Santa Ana Avenue through what is a mixed industrial-residential area.

At least one home was destroyed, while multiple outbuildings and around 15 to 20 cars also caught fire.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, however, the fire department said nothing about it seems suspicious.
