GM Divac Gets Multi-Year Extension With Kings
The Sacramento Kings announced on Wednesday the contract extension of Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Vlade Divac. The terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed, but it is a multi-year contract.
"My commitment to the Sacramento Kings goes back to my days as a player and I'm grateful to continue playing my part in creating a winning future for the Sacramento Kings," said Divac in a press release. "I know that we have what it takes to be a successful franchise and I look forward to continuing to improve and build on the progress that we've made."
Divac played 16 seasons in the NBA from 1990-2006, spending six of those seasons with the Kings in the early 2000's during their playoff runs. He then joined the Kings front office in March of 2015 as the Vice President of Basketball and Franchise Operations, only to be promoted to his current position back in August.
With this year being his first running the Kings, the team currently stands at 29-45, the same win total as last year, but with eight games left on the schedule. If the Kings win one more before the end of the season, they would finish with the highest win total since 2008's 38-win season.
