Fourth of July 2015: What's Open And What's Closed In Sacramento?
Since Independence Day, July 4, is on Saturday this year, some government offices and businesses are shifting the holiday to Friday or Monday.
Here is a list of what is open and what is closed on Friday and Saturday in the Sacramento area.
State and federal offices: Since July 4 lands on Saturday, for most Federal employees, Friday, July 3, will be treated as a holiday for pay and leave purposes. Link
DMV Offices: Normal hours on July 3, but closed July 4
Banks: Closed July 4, according to the California Bankers Association. All banks in California are closed on federal holidays.
California state parks: Open
Arden Fair Mall: They have regular hours on Friday. On Saturday they open at 10 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Link
Nugget: Normal hours on Friday. Stores close at 9 p.m. on Saturday.
Safeway: It depends on the store. A company spokesperson says most will be open on July 4. Link
Raley's: Normal hours all weekend long.
U.S. Postal Service: Closed July 4
FedEx: July 3 - Depends on the service. Ground will be closed. Home delivery is open. July 4 - Closed. Some Office locations are open with a modified schedule.
UPS: Freight delivery is closed on July 3
Sacramento County offices: Closed on July 3
Sacramento Superior Court: Closed on July 3
City of Sacramento city hall and city offices: Closed on July 3
