Food Bank In Nevada County Moving After Worker Threatened With Knife
NEVADA COUNTY (CBS13) - A Nevada County food bank is now searching for a new place to do business after a worker giving out turkeys was threatened with a knife.
The food bank was considering moving to the San Juan ridge next to the area's fire station. Organizers hoped firefighters could help keep workers safe -- but firefighters say they're in no position to help.
"We do not provide security...and we fight fires," said firefighter Christoffer Montelius.
The food bank is committed to carry on its mission while staying safe.
Nevada County staff is working with the food bank to come up with a safer location.
