Flight From SFO Diverted As Passenger Goes Into Labor

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Authorities say a pregnant woman who went into labor aboard a plane is being treated at a Salt Lake City hospital after her flight was diverted to Utah.

Salt Lake City International Airport spokeswoman Barbara Gann says the woman went into labor Wednesday morning on airplane heading from San Francisco to Minneapolis.

Gann says a pediatrician on board assisted the woman.

The Delta Air Lines flight landed in Salt Lake City about 9:40 a.m. MST and the woman was taken to a local hospital.

Gann says the woman did not give birth on board, but further details about her condition were not immediately available.
