Firefighters Estimate Jerusalem Fire Will Be Fully Contained Today
LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) — The Jerusalem Fire, which has been burning since August 9 in Lake County and has charred more than 25,000 acres, is 95 percent contained. Firefighters say they expect to have the fire 100 percent contained on Monday.
A total of 372 firefighters, 13 fire engines, 12 bulldozers, nine water tenders and a helicopter are fighting the fire. It has destroyed six homes and 21 outbuildings.
The fire is the second of two blazes that have charred land near dry Lower Lake. The first one, which was contained earlier this month after it destroyed 43 homes.

Authorities are asking homeowners to check the health of their trees, which may be among the 12 million killed by the bark beetle in California. The beetle-killed trees provide fodder for wildfires.
