Carmichael MetroPCS Store Heavily Damaged By Fire
CARMICHAEL (CBS13) - Fire crews are investigating a fire at a MetroPCS store in Carmichael this morning.
Metro Fire Dept. crews were called out to the store on Fair Oaks Boulevard near El Camino Avenue just before 3 a.m.
The owner of the store says he was alerted by an alarm company as a possible burglary. When he arrived, he found the store on fire.
Unfortunately there were no sprinklers inside the store.
"It was an older building and didn't have sprinkler requirements or anything like that. The good thing now is we're doing a lot of building inspections…and that keeps building walls in check, that type of thing," said Metro Fire Dept. Battalion Chief Steve Turner.
A nearby cleaners used to be a MetroPCS store and it also caught fire in the past.
