FBI Searching Sierra For Man Accused Of Killing Wife, Mother, Children In 1970s
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A man accused of killing his wife, sons and mother decades ago on the East Coast may be hiding out in the Sierra.
William Bradley Bishop allegedly killed five members of his family in Maryland in March 1976 by bludgeoning them with a hammer. Now he's one of the FBI's Top 10 most wanted.
The FBI released photos of him from nearly 40 years ago, and a visualization of what they believe he may look like now.
Nearly 40 years after the FBI says he dumped the bodies in rural North Carolina, the former department of state worker is now a top focus for the agency.
Now 77 years old, agents say he could likely be in the area. Bishop was born in Southern California and loved the Sierra Nevada.
He has a history of psychiatric problems. Despite his age, Bishop is considered armed and dangerous. Agents say if you see him, not to approach or ask questions, just call authorities.
The FBI is offering up to a $100,000 reward for his capture.
