Explosive Device Found During Traffic Stop In Tracy
TRACY (CBS13) – Police evacuated a neighborhood in Tracy after an explosive device was found in a vehicle Wednesday morning.
The scene was near E. Mt. Diablo and E 3rd Streets.
Tracy Police say the devices were found in a vehicle during a traffic stop a little after 10 a.m. Officers asked people to avoid the area and conduction some evacuations as the bomb squad investigated.
A little after 1:30 p.m., police announced the device had been safely destroyed by the bomb squad.
Police say the device appeared to be a pipe bomb.
The two people, an unidentified man and woman, who were in the car have been detained. The car has been towed.
