Evacuations Ordered In SCU Lightning Complex Fire Near Patterson; Cal Fire Treating Injured Civilians
STANISLAUS COUNTY (CBS13) – The latest on the SCU Lightning Complex Fire burning in Stanislaus County.
9:30 p.m. Update:
Evacuations were ordered for areas south of the Stanislaus County Line between Santa Clara County Line and Interstate 5; West of I-5; North of Stanislaus/Merced County Line; East of Santa Clara County Line.
8 p.m. Update:
The SCU Lightning Complex Fire has roared past 100,000 acres (102,000 acres) in size and remains at only 5% containment, Cal Fire announced Wednesday evening.
7:08 p.m. Update:
Cal Fire is treating and evacuating civilians who were injured in the Canyon Zone area of the SCU Lightning Complex Fire. Officials did not say how many civilians were injured or elaborate on the extent of their injuries.
Evacuations were ordered for all of Diable Grande Parkway and the entire Diablo Grande community earlier Wednesday.
4 p.m. Update:
The SCU Lightning Complex Fire burning approximately 85,000 acres in Stanislaus County has prompted evacuations in a Patterson community, Cal Fire announced on Wednesday.
Evacuations have been ordered for all of Diablo Grande Parkway and the entire Diablo Grande community.
Cal Fire said an evacuation shelter has been put in place at Creekside Middle School located at 535 Peregrine Dr. in Patterson.
The evacuation order was announced at 3 p.m. and is effective immediately.
Cal Fire's website says the fire is only 5% contained as of Wednesday afternoon and is impacting locations in Santa Clara County, Alameda County, Contra Costa County, San Joaquin County, and Stanislaus County.
Evacuations ordered in Alameda County were lifted on Wednesday.
The Canyon Zone Fire, which is part of the SCU Lightning Complex Fire, started on Sunday and was burning over 10,000 acres as of Tuesday night.
