Evacuations Ordered As 1200-Acre Quail Fire Burns Near Winters

WINTERS (CBS13)Evacuations have been ordered as crews are battling a 1200-acre fire near Winters on Saturday, according to the Cal Fire.

Officials said the Quail Fire is burning just north of Vacaville in the area of Quail Canyon Road and Pleasants Valley Road. Approximately 100 structures are threatened.

Cal Fire said the fire is 5% contained and the evacuations are ordered for Quail Canyon Road from Pleasants Valley to Highway 128. Pleasants Valley Road is closed.

The Winters Police Department said an evacuation center has been set up at the Winters Community Center and that the evacuations are also impacting the Olive School Road area.

The 3 Oaks Community Center in Vacaville is also functioning as an evacuation center at 1100 Alamo Drive.

Just before 5:30 p.m., the fire was at reported 150 acres.
