Elk Grove Father Shot His 2-Year-Old Son Then Took His Own Life, Police Say
ELK GROVE (CBS13) — Authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving a father and his two-year-old son in Elk Grove on Sunday.

The Elk Grove Police Department said they responded just before 2 p.m. to the 5500 block of Tamarindo Lane after reports of a woman screaming.
Police said they located the mother in the street. The mother told police she had been in a verbal argument with the father, which led to the father, 45, pulling out a gun to shoot the child and then himself.
After finding the father with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, officers said they found the deceased infant with a single gunshot wound.
