Car Catches Fire In Elk Grove Driveway

ELK GROVE (CBS13) – A car caught fire inside a driveway and sparked a Hazmat situation early Monday morning.

The scene was along Annie Street.  The fire was first reported about 2:30 a.m., authorities say.

Firefighters quickly responded to the area. Crews said the car leaked gas into the grass and down into the gutter, causing fuel to leak into the storm drain – making this a hazmat incident.

Firefighters do not know what caused the car to catch fire.

There are no reports of injuries.
