Man killed in early morning hit-and-run in Modesto, police say

MODESTO – Police in Modesto are searching for a driver who took off after a pedestrian was hit and killed early Sunday morning, police say.

The collision happened around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Paradise Road and Leon Avenue, police said. This is where they said a man was found dead in the road. 

According to witnesses, police said the man was hit by a black sedan and took off from the scene westbound on Paradise Road.

Police believe the man was crossing Paradise Road northbound when the sedan collided with him.
