Cyclist Hit Along Truxel Road Dies; Driver Suspected Of DUI

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A cyclist who was hit and killed by a driver suspected of driving under the influence of marijuana has died.

The incident happened around noon Saturday along Truxel Road near the South Natomas Library.

Officers believe the driver who struck the bicyclist was high on marijuana at the time. The driver, identified on Tuesday as 22-year-old Anthony Hernandez Vega, was arrested and is now facing DUI charges.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
