Driver hospitalized after crashing into pole in Citrus Heights
CITRUS HEIGHTS – A driver has been hospitalized after crashing into a pole in Citrus Heights early Monday morning.
The incident happened just before 2 a.m. near Greenback Lane and Brookhaven Way.
Exactly what led up to the crash is unclear, but the SUV ended up embedded in a pole.
Metro Fire of Sacramento crews say one side of Greenback Lane had to be shut down for a time due to the crash leaving wires hanging low.
The driver, who first responders say had to be extricated from the vehicle, has been taken to the hospital.
Citrus Heights police say they are investigating if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
