CHP: Big Rig Goes Through I-80 Center Divider, Causing Multiple Injury Crash In Dixon

DIXON (CBS13) — The California Highway Patrol is investigating a multiple injury crash in Dixon after a big rig went through a center divider on the freeway and crashed into several vehicles.

The crash happened just before 10:30 a.m along Interstate 80 near Pedrick Road in Dixon, the CHP said in a news release. CHP said a Honda sedan was traveling in the westbound lanes of the freeway when, according to witness statements, the vehicle collided with a big rig, causing both to travel to the left into the center divider.

The news release said the big rig went through the center guardrail and into the eastbound lanes where it collided with a Subaru, which was torn into three separate pieces. The big rig then collided with another big rig and the two vehicles came to a rest on the south shoulder of the roadway.
