Disabled Senior Killed By Valley Fire
LAKE COUNTY (CBS13) - The person who was killed by the fast-moving Valley Fire over the weekend was a disabled senior, according to authorities.
On Saturday around 7:12 p.m., emergency personnel received a call requesting help to evacuate a disabled woman who was living at a home on Hot Springs Road in the area of Cobb Mountain. When officers and deputies arrived in the area just before 7:30 p.m., they found the subdivision in flames, according to a statement from the Lake County Sheriff's Department.
The woman was not able to get out of her home before it was engulfed in flames and destroyed.
The woman's identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
