Fatal shooting at Rocklin apartment complex believed to be self-inflicted

ROCKLIN – Police are investigating after a man was killed in an early morning shooting in Rocklin on Wednesday. However, they're now saying that the shooting wasn't a homicide. 

The shooting happened just before 4 a.m. at the Sunset Street Apartments. The Rocklin Police Department issued a statement saying the man was pronounced dead later in the day at an area hospital. 

Rocklin police officers determined there was no remaining threat, but increased police patrols in the area as a precaution. 

On December 15, Rocklin police announced that the gunshot wound had been self-inflicted. They have not said whether the shooting was intentional or not.
