Deadly head-on crash in Turlock closes Lander Avenue, police say
TURLOCK – A head-on crash left one person dead and another injured in Turlock on Monday, authorities say.
The Turlock Police Department said a woman collided head-on with a big rig on Lander Avenue, near West Simmons Road.
The woman died at the scene. The big rig driver suffered minor injuries. Exactly what led up to the crash is unclear.
Due to the crash, Lander Avenue was closed in both directions between Simmons and West Glenwood but has since reopened.
