Hwy. 65 back open after deadly crash in Roseville

PLACER COUNTY - One person was killed in Roseville after a major vehicle crash. 

According to CHP's Auburn office, one person died in a "major injury collision" on southbound Highway 65 at Pleasant Grove Boulevard. On Monday, the Placer County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Margaret Akui-Macdonald, 57, from Vacaville. She was killed after a distracted driver in a pickup truck rear-ended her vehicle, causing it to slam into the vehicle in front of hers.

Traffic was diverted off the highway at Pleasant Grove as a result of the crash. At around 8:30 p.m., CHP announced the road was back open.
