Crime Spree Has Business Owners In Elk Grove, Natomas Concerned
ELK GROVE (CBS13) — A crime spree is jangling nerves in Sacramento County as investigators try to hunt down an elusive armed robber.
In the last several months, a suspect, or suspects, have targeted at least eight fast-food restaurants in Natomas and Elk Grove.
Police believe the same man in his 20s wearing a dark hoodie walking into four fast food restaurants, threatening workers with a gun.
"Comes in, brandishes a handgun demands money from the register and then flees on foot," said Elk Grove Police officer Chris Trim.
Elk Grove business owners like Zabih Khogyani are also concerned. His fashion accessory store is next to a Little Caesar's pizza restaurant that was robbed on Laguna Boulevard.
"Of course it gets me worried as a business owner in the area," he said. "It could be from anywhere and it could be anyone."
The problems aren't limited to Elk Grove. Sacramento is also looking for the public's help catching a man that's targeted fast-food restaurants in Natomas.
It's unknown if the suspects are the same in both cases.
"We are working with other law enforcement agencies to see if they have similar issues," Trim said.
