Cousins Shakes Off Altercation: 'Just Some Friendly UK Love'
After the Sacramento Kings lost to the Los Angeles Lakers 101-91 on Thursday night, DeMarcus Cousins and Julius Randle exchanged words at center court.
When asked about the altercation between the two former Kentucky Wildcats, Cousins simply played it off by saying, "it's just some friendly UK love."
Randle played at the University of Kentucky three years after Cousins was drafted into the NBA. Most of the former UK players in the NBA have a close relationship and the Kings's big man said Randle is "like my little brother."
Cousins put up big numbers in the game with 28 points and nine rebounds, but he admitted during the postgame press conference, shown on the TNT broadcast, that he was frustrated with the way the Lakers played him.
"It's pretty sad when opposing teams let it be known what their game plan is, which is to be physical, hit me and whatever the case may be, they get away with it" Cousins said. "I've got to learn to play through it, keep my frustrations in order and just play through it."
The schedule only gets tougher for Cousins and the Kings. The next six opponents on Sacramento's schedule were all playoff teams last season.
