Coroner: Drowning Not Cause Of Folsom Lake Boating Accident Victims Deaths

FOLSOM LAKE (CBS13) — Four men who died in a Folsom Lake boating accident did not die as a result of drowning, according to the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department.

The deadly May 10 accident led to a long search for the men, the last of whom was recovered on Monday.

Three of the men—James Strauch, 47; Toby Strauch, 54; and Kenneth Smith, 48—died from cervical vertebral fracture, commonly known as a broken neck. Gerald Jacobs, 53 died from injuries related to blunt force trauma to the chest.
