Clouds May Block Partial Solar Eclipse In Northern California

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Clouds will likely put a damper on the view of Thursday afternoon's partial solar eclipse.

The eclipse will be visible to most of the United States. Weather permitting, Sacramento area residents will be able to get a view of the eclipse starting at 1:53 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

It will come to a peak at 3:17 p.m., at which point it will look like someone has taken a bite out of the sun.

The show will end at 4:33 p.m.

Anyone out to glimpse the show is urged to get some sort of protection for their eyes, as you should never stare directly at the sun. Info on how to view an eclipse safely can be found here- http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEhelp/safety.html.
