Citrus Heights Cracks Down On Massage Parlors Suspected Of Prostitution

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) - More than a dozen massage parlors in Citrus Heights have been forced to close as the city cracks down on prostitution.
The city has decided to adopt stricter rules put in place by the California Massage Therapy Council. The rules take effect on Friday and require all massage therapists to be certified by the council.
It also clarifies the licenses are non-transferable.
Businesses are also now being required to provide the city with an up-to-date list of employees, and notify the city within five days if a therapists is no longer employed.
Police say 44 therapists in the city have had their licenses revoked in the crackdown.
