The incident started as a suspected domestic violence case, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department. Police say the suspect took off from the Greenback Lane and Auburn Boulevard area and soon ended up on eastbound Interstate 80.

On the freeway, police say the suspect reached speeds up about 100 mph.

Once the chase reached Auburn, California Highway Patrol took over. Spike strips set up at Dutch Flat then popped all four of the suspect's tires.

The suspect continued on for about a fourth of a mile before he finally pulled over and was arrested. He has since been transferred to the custody of Citrus Heights Police.
