CHP Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting Off Richards Boulevard

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – California Highway Patrol is investigating an officer-involved shooting near Richards Boulevard Saturday afternoon.

Mike Bradley from CHP tells CBS13 that officers were chasing a suspect out of Stockton along Interstate 5.

Officers deployed spike strips at Twin Cities Road, but the suspect continued on.

The suspect, a man believed to be in his 30s, reportedly rammed their car into patrol cars. He was driving a truck stolen out of Stockton, police say.

The chase ended near Richards Boulevard and I-5. Bradley confirms they are investigating an officer involved shooting. Officers say the suspect has been taken to the hospital, but there has been no word on his condition.

Sacramento Police officer are at the scene assisting with the investigation.
