SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) - The two people who were killed when their car was hit head-on by a wrong-way driver early Tuesday morning have been identified.

Zahid Arshad, 25, of South San Francisco and and Nicholas Sharma, 24, of Hawyard died when a pick-up truck driving eastbound on westbound Interstate 80 slammed into their Lexus sedan and burst into flames, according to a CHP statement.

The driver of the truck was also killed, but has not been identified.

Lanes of Interstate 80 were closed for hours.

CHP officers say they received multiple 911 calls reporting the truck had entered the freeway going the wrong way at Watt Avenue. Police responded immediately, but it was too late. The truck drove the wrong way about mile before the crash happened.
