Central Valley Braces For Storm As Flood Warning Goes Until Effect Until Thursday

WILTON (CBS13) -- Witlon residents are preparing in light of the current storm.

The city, which has already received its fair share of flooding and levee concerns this winter, is now under a flood warning until Thursday.

The National Weather Service says since the region already has saturated soils, this week's heavy rain will add additional stress on levees, rivers, creeks and streams.

Several days ago, water filled a vineyard.

"Five days ago, where we are standing, we would've been up to [our] neck and head in the water," said Wilton resident Shawn Smith.

City water officials now say there is concern that more wet weather could cause the river to crest of possibly compromise the levee system.
