Brooks Ayers Of 'The Real Housewives Of Orange County' Talks About 'Fake Cancer' Rumors
LOS ANGELES (CBS Sacramento) - Vicki Gunvalson's of ex-boyfriend Brook Ayers is facing criticism after this season of "The Real Housewives Of Orange County." Some claim he faked having cancer.
He told Entertainment Tonight, "I have cancer." Ayers explained that he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma which is a blood cancer. He has been getting treatment for it and is set to take on another round in October.
The ladies of "The Real Housewives Of Orange County" accused him several times of faking his illness. He said, "I think they do it to create drama -- manufactured drama and that's sad to me. I've distanced myself in a lot of ways from it. It's useless drama that brings on stress that quite frankly no one needs and in particular my situation. I'm not running from anything."
When Entertainment Tonight spoke to "Housewives" co-star Meghan King Edmonds, she said, "There's a lot of questions that come up. I'm not the only one [who] has questions about it ... I have major, major questions."
Ayers responded, saying that just because he has been diagnosed with cancer doesn't necessarily mean that he should be, "lying around in a hospice bed."
