Box truck fire shuts several lanes on westbound I-80 in Roseville

ROSEVILLE – A box truck that caught fire has caused a big slowdown on Interstate 80 in the Roseville area Tuesday morning.

The incident started a little before 9 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway near the Riverside Avenue offramp.

Exactly what led up to the box truck catching fire is unclear, but first responders had to close several lanes so that fire personnel could put the flames out.

It's unclear if there were any injuries.

Crews also need to tow the truck to a safe location.

Drivers heading through the area are being told to expect significant delays. No estimated time of reopening of the I-80 lanes has been given.
