Bomb Threat Graffiti Discovered In Cosumnes Oaks High School Bathroom

ELK GROVE (CBS13) - Authorities are investigating after discovering a threat made against an Elk Grove high school.

Xanthi Pinkerton with the Elk Grove Unified School District says anonymous graffiti was discovered in a restroom at Cosumnes High School on Tuesday. The graffiti referenced a bomb threat for Wednesday.

Authorities do not believe the threat to be credible. However, authorities are taking the incident seriously and an increased law enforcement presence will be at the campus.

No suspects have been identified.

"The safety of our students and staff is a top priority at our schools. We do not consider these actions to be pranks. They are disruptive to our school and community," Pinkerton said in a statement. "As such, when the responsible party/parties are identified, they will be arrested and recommended for expulsion."

Pinkerton added that posting threats are a felony offense.

A similar threat was also found in a locker room shower stall at Franklin High School recently, Pinkerton said. Letters have been sent to parents at Fraklin, Cosumnes Oaks and the middle schools also nearby to alert them of the discoveries.
