Big Rig Carrying Wine Overturns In Bay Area

HAYWARD (CBS13) – An accident in the Bay Area is making a mess of traffic Friday morning.

A big rig on its side is blocking lanes of both north and southbound Interstate 880 in Hayward.

California Highway Patrol says the semi was carrying wine when it crashed. The crash even knocked over a freeway sign.

Authorities say it might take several hours to offload the wine by hand before crews can move the trailer.

No one was seriously hurt.

There is no word yet on when crews expect to have all lanes back open.
