Here are some discounts that can help college students save money

College classes are now back in session, and CBS13 and the Call Kurtis consumer investigative team have been on the lookout for discounts for college students that they may not even realize they can receive.

We visited Sacramento State University to talk to some students about their money stresses. Then, we found where they can save.

Budgeting is part of life for Sacramento State computer science major Alexander Fails.

"Sometimes feels like I'm bailing out a sinking ship at times when it comes to schooling and just how expensive it's getting," Fails said.

Freshman Saul Romero stresses more about what's going out than what's coming in.

"I think money has always been a worry," Romero said.

We've been on the hunt for great deals that college students may not know they can get.

How about cell phone plans for college students? Every college student has a cell phone.

Did you know that Verizon offers $10 off per month?

AT&T also has a $10 discount rate for its unlimited PL Plan, and Samsung gives a 30% discount on phones through college campus stores.

HP's Education Store offers students up to 40 percent off products and services, and they don't even require a student ID.

Hulu gives college students its streaming service for just $1.99 per month.

Amazon gives college students six months of Prime for free, then 50% off after that.

Walmart Plus is half off at $49 a year. Sam's Club gives 30% off its membership to college students, too.

"I'll definitely look into the Sam's Club one, that's for sure," Fails said.

We also found a few stores that offer student discounts on clothing. Here is a list of other places to find college discounts:
