Barn Owl That Fell Into Waste Igniter Slowly Learning To Fly Again

LOOMIS (CBS13) – Gold Country Wildlife Rescue is helping one long-term patient reach new heights.

A barn owl is healing after burning most of his flight feathers and talons when he landed on a methane igniter at a city waste facility.

Wildlife experts weren't sure he would survive, but he recovered and is in the process of learning how to fly again.

He's good at jumping and flying from perch to perch in his cage – but still has a long way to go.

Anyone looking to help the owl is asked to go to the wildlife rescue's Facebook page.
