Arrest Made In Road Rage Incident With School Bus

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (AP) — A 35-year-old Santa Cruz County man has been arrested for allegedly engaging in a road rage incident with a school bus.

The Santa Cruz Sentinel says sheriff's deputies jailed Jeffrey Bowie on $25,000 bail on Thursday.

Deputy Ryan Kennedy tells the newspaper that Bowie allegedly forced the school bus driver onto the edge of Highway 1 on Monday afternoon and then backed into the bus, which was carrying a 3-year-old child.

Kennedy says the bus driver reported not knowing what precipitated the aggressive behavior.

Bowie also was arrested for public intoxication on Monday.

He is being held on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and cruelty to a child, both felonies.

Neither the bus driver nor the child was hurt.
