Arrest Made In Attack Of Subway Restaurant Employee
SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department has arrested a suspect in a violent attack of a Subway employee this week – a man who reportedly works at the restaurant.
Kenneth Chandler Anderson, 22, was taken into custody on four felony charges and a misdemeanor charge for the attack. Deputies said that an employee showed up to open the Auburn Boulevard Subway around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, only to be attacked by a man wearing a black mask.
The woman was reportedly tied up and sexually assaulted, but she was somehow able to untie herself and get away.
Anderson's DNA is being compared to the DNA collected in the attacks that have hit the I-80/Madison Avenue area recently, Lisa Bowman with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said.
"Nobody can deny the striking similarities and physical description between this guy and a composite sketches as well as the crimes were committed and violence that was used," Bowman said.
The DNA tests will help determine if Anderson will face additional charges.
Anderson is said to be a long-time employee of the shop. His bail has been set at $1 million.
