CHP: Children Abducted From Oroville Found Safe, AMBER Alert Canceled

BUTTE COUNTY (CBS13) -- The three children who were abducted out of Oroville, forcing an AMBER Alert activation, have been found safe, authorities say.

The suspect is also in custody, according to California Highway Patrol.

The suspect was arrested in Yuba City after someone who received the alert saw the suspect's vehicle. The van was stopped on Highway 20 near Highway 99, the suspect was arrested, and the children were found safe.

Authorities were looking for Matthew Rod Kline, a 31-year-old white man. He was believed to have been driving a 2007 light blue Hyundai van with the CA plate number 7FKV464.

The children -- 1-year-old Aiden Matthew Kline, 3-year-old Ella Lynn Kline and 4-year-old Abygail Marie Jones -- were abducted at 7 a.m. from Oroville, according to California Highway Patrol.

The AMBER Alert was issued for the following counties: Butte, Glenn, Plumas, Tehama, Colusa, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sac, Sierra, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba.

Just before 3 p.m., CHP announced that the children had been found safe and the suspect was arrested. The stop and arrest was made by the Yuba City Police Department.
