4 taken to hospital after 5-vehicle pile-up in Sacramento County

ANTELOPE – Four people were taken to the hospital after a five-vehicle pile-up in Sacramento County on Saturday afternoon, firefighters said.

Crews responded to Daly Avenue and Roseville Road in the Antelope area around 3:15 p.m. where they found a five-vehicle pile-up.

The CHP said a Silverado towing a fully loaded trailer was traveling west on Antelope Road at Roseville Road when a man in a white Toyota SUV made an unsafe turn and entered traffic from southbound Roseville Road.

The driver of the SUV drove into the path of the Silverado and the SUV was pushed into oncoming traffic on eastbound Antelope Road, officers said.

The Silverado then collided with an oncoming white Miata and Corolla. It then continued the wrong way and crashed into a red Tacoma head-on, trapping the driver.

The Tacoma was then pushed back into a Tundra, which collided with an Explorer.

The man in the Tacoma was pulled from his vehicle and was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. The CHP said all others involved had minor injuries.

The CHP is investigating the crash.
