4 Killed In Wrong-Way Driver Crash On Highway 50
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Traffic was at a standstill on westbound Highway 50 Wednesday morning as crews investigated a crash that killed four people.
Just before 2:30 a.m., a driver in a Toyota Prius was reportedly driving the wrong direction on Highway 50 near Stockton Boulevard, according to California Highway Patrol.
The Prius collided head on with a Ford pick-up near Stockton Boulevard.
The driver of the Prius and three people in the truck were killed in the crash, CHP says.
A third car was involved in the crash, with the driver suffering minor injuries.
Traffic was being diverted off of westbound 50 at 65th Street. Shortly after 7:30 a.m., Caltrans announced that all lanes on westbound Highway 50 have been reopened.
