4 Former Athletics Players Who Won Championships With Giants

One of the biggest annoyances for Oakland Athletics fans is to see their favorite players leave every few years. The only thing more annoying to an A's fan is to see those players eventually end up across the Bay.

Some of the biggest fan favorites in Oakland have ended up in San Francisco not only to play for the Giants, but also help win a World Series.

During the past three even-year World Series wins, there have been several players who made a name for themselves in Oakland, but finally won a ring in San Francisco.

While watching game two of the Bay Bridge Series on Tuesday night, take a look at the A's dugout; there may just be a player in there who will help the Giants win yet another even-year World Series.

Here are the four former Athletics players who won a World Series in either 2010, 2012, or 2014:

1. Barry Zito - SP - 2010, 2012

The lefty spent seven years with both the Athletics and Giants. There's no doubt Zito played his best baseball during his time in Oakland, but he won two rings in San Francisco.

While in Oakland, Zito was 102-63 and won the 2002 Cy Young Award.

He didn't have nearly as much success in San Franciso with a record of 63-80.

Zito was not put on the 2010 playoff roster for the Giants, but he made up for it with his pitching in the 2012 post-season.

In 2012, Zito came through with a huge game five win over the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS and a win in the World Series.

2. Tim Hudson - SP - 2014

Hudson spent the first six years of his career in Oakland where he was the most consistent part of the "Big Three."

With Oakland, Hudson won 92 games and made two all-star appearances.

He only spent two seasons in San Francisco, but helped win a World Series during his first year with the club in 2014.

The best years of his career were behind him once he reached San Francisco. He was no longer the guy to lead the staff, but he was a serviceable piece at the end of the rotation.

3. Marco Scutaro - Second Base - 2012

Scutaro was never an all-star in Oakland like Hudson or Zito, but he became a huge fan favorite in Oakland after the 2006 playoff series against the Minnesota Twins.

His bases clearing double played a huge roll in the Athletics winning game three to sweep the Twins in the first round.

The Giants acquired Scutaro from the Rockies in 2012 and he would play a key role in the team's World Series run and won the NLCS MVP against the Cardinals.

Scutaro was on the roster in 2014 as well but spent a majority of the season on the Disabled List.

4. Santiago Casilla - RP - 2010, 2012, 2014

He spent the first six seasons of his career with Oakland and during the three of those years he actually went by the name of Jairo Garcia.

He switched his name to Santiago Casilla before 2007 which is also when he became a full time reliever.

Casilla struggled as a part of the Athletics. He didn't start to become one of the league's best relievers until he arrived in San Francisco.

During his time in Oakland, Casilla had an ERA of 5.11 as opposed to his 2.24 ERA with the Giants.

He spent the 2010 and 2012 post-seasons as middle relief for the Giants. In 2014, Casilla was promoted to the team's closer and four saves throughout the post-season.
