3 Kids Allegedly Taken By Mom Found Safe; Mom Not Suspect In Father's Slaying

RICHMOND, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say the three children believed taken from their San Francisco Bay-area home, where their father was discovered fatally shot, have been found safe.

KGO-TV reports that the children were located late Monday in Richmond. No other details were immediately given.

An Amber Alert was issued Monday night for 12-year-old Hugo Anguiano, 6-year-old Merari Anguiano and 2-year-old Jenh Anguiano. Their mother, 35-year-old Alicia Ortez, was suspected of taking them.

Authorities believe the children were abducted Sunday night from their home in San Pablo, where they lived with their father. The father was found fatally shot in the backyard Monday morning.

Police say Ortez, who is a transient, isn't a suspect in the killing of her children's father.
