2 Teachers In Southern California Accused Of Having Sex With High School Students

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say two teachers have been arrested following allegations they had sex with high school students on an overnight beach camping trip in Southern California.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department says 38-year-old Melody Lippert and 30-year-old Michelle Ghirelli were arrested Saturday after the West Covina Police Department notified them of the allegations.

Authorities say Lippert allegedly gave alcohol to male students from West Covina's South Hills High School at San Clemente State Beach in November and had a sexual relationship with one of them.

Authorities say a few weeks later Lippert planned an overnight beach camping trip with Ghirelli and some of the students, and the women had sex with two students on the trip.

The Covina-Valley Unified School District says both women have been put on paid administrative leave.
