Teacher Arrested On DUI After Crashing Vehicle Into 2 Homes

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – A teacher for the Sacramento Unified School District has been taken into custody on suspicion of DUI after she crashed her vehicle into two homes off of Vintage Park Drive Thursday morning, according to authorities.

The crash happened just after 8:30 a.m. A California Highway Patrol statement reports the driver, 56-year-old Patricia Ann Robertson, lost control of her car along the 8100 block of Arnside Way and clipped a parked car, sending her out of control into a driveway of a home.

Robertson then reportedly clipped a car parked in the driveway, sending that car into the house. Her car still had momentum, however, and she soon crashed into another home where a family was sleeping inside. No one was home at the first house hit.

No one was hurt in the crashes.

Officers reportedly smelled strong alcohol on Robertson and she was taken into custody. According to preliminary information, she had a blood-alcohol level three times the legal limit.

In total, the crashes caused about $50,000 in damage, according to a Sacramento Metro Fire statement. A water main was also hit.

At the time of the crash, Robertson was reportedly on her way to Earl Warren Elementary School in Sacramento where she teaches third grade.

This isn't the first time Robertson was arrested on DUI charges. She was arrested in 2010 and pleaded no contest to DUI, according to Shelley Orio, a spokesperson for Sacramento County District Attorney's Office.
